As of late 2008, my wife became the proud owner of the ToughBook. It's been working brilliantly for her and has easily replaced both her IBM ThinkPad T40
and Asus EeePC 701
. She loves the size, weight, battery life and performance. She's even been using the VT extensions of the Core Duo CPU, as a piece of software she uses for research is shipped in a Linux virtual machine. I imagine she'll stick with this machine as long as it keeps going.
Me, I split my time evenly between the MacBook Pro
(which I almost never use as a laptop and hate lugging around, though it is a fabulous machine) a Toshiba R500, and my trusty HP 2133
