What's coming to you

I was just listening to As It Happens on CBC Radio. They were speaking with an American Gentleman who, when given the opportunity to speak with the vice president, made clear his objections to the invasion of Iraq. This man was subsequently charged with assault, taken away from his family, and his children were threatened with Children's Aid all before the charges were suddenly dropped.

Feeling legitimately intimidated by having his freedom of speech be threatened, this man did what any decent American would do: Sue.

That's right, he's taking Dick Chaney and the Secret Service to task for this ludicrous behaviour, and good for him. It's far past time for Americans to wake up and realize that their oft-lauded rights and freedoms are being systematically taken away from them by the Bush administration. That a normal citizen should be so threatened for simply expressing his opinion to an elected official is a farce.
